Stretchers Our #1 and #1-1/2 stretchers are made with .177 diameter galvanized spring wire. Hooks are made of .040 thick galvanized steel. Our remaining stretcher sizes are made with .250 diameter galvanized spring wire. Hooks are made of .060 thick galvanized steel. |
Stretcher Sizes #1 - For muskrat; measures 21" long x 7" wide. #1-1/2 - For mink, measures 27" long x 4-1/2" wide. #23 - For raccoon (weighing 7 to 14 pounds), jumbo muskrats, opossum; measures 41-1/2" long x 9" wide. #4 - For raccoon to coyote, measures 41" long x 9" wide. #5 - For raccoon, fox and bobcat; measures 41" long x 9" wide. #6 - For coyote; measures 60" long x 11-1/2" wide. |
Trapper's Tip: If you find your stretcher hooks are slipping, run a piece of fine steel wool up
and down the rod. This will remove any build-up or coating. |

Trapper's Tip: If you paint these setters florescent orange, it will make them easier to find in
the dark. Also, if you buy a leather plier holster that slips onto your
belt, cut about 1" off the bottom and it makes a great holster for your
setters. |

Chain - Swivel Assembly Ring - Steel 0.75" thick x .75" wide. It can be cloased early with a pair of channel-lock pliers. J-Hook - Steel, rivet is 13/64" diameter x 1-3/4" long. Chain - #1/0 double loop, 16" in length with ring. |
Swivel Body Steel is .075 tick, .5" x .850" x 1.125" in size. |
J-Hook Steel flat head rivet measures .203 x 1.75" |

Inline Springs Many of you have asked for lighter weight AND a lighter pull Inline Spring. SCM's 56 lb. version with tempered cupped slides is now available. The long spring applies a softer light load while the shorter spring takes the lunge of a heavier critter. The mis-shaped slides help prevent rust from locking them . For those who wish an even lighter assembly, remove the short spring for a 40 lb. version. Designed to be setup with double swivels and "J" hooks (not furnished). |
